Team CTC's Tamina wins in a Devon downpour

The windy, and soon to become wet conditions signalling autumn approaching, could not stop a strong field of the ‘best of the south west’ female road racers taking to the lanes of Devon for the inaugural Rockbeare Road Race.

This 50 mile women’s cycling event hosted by Exeter Wheelers was blown apart by an attack on the second of seven laps by three riders including our very own Tamina Oliver. Tam and two others maintained a gap over the chasing peleton for over two hours before Tam kicked again and broke the resolve of her two worthy breakaway riders. On the last lap with  half a mile to go, Tamina’s acceleration and subsequent gap was enough to allow her a smile and raised arm as she crossed the line some 150 yards ahead of the second placed rider.

A nice end to a tough road season for Tam.
