Lydia Boylan crossed the line in first place in the South East regional road race championships on Saturday 18th May, whileTracey Fletcher climbed onto the podium with a second place in the East Midlands Regional road race championships the following day.

Lydia won at the Kirdford circuit in Surrey, but credit also goes to Astrid Wingler who was caught up in a crash during the same race, but re-mounted to finish a creditable 23rd.

Tracey was competing at the Ticknall circuit in Derbyshire.

The events allow regionally-based riders the chance to show their talent. Unfortunately, there are some regions which do not hold a women’s regional championship, showing the disparity in racing opportunity between men and women - something that Team CTC is determined to tackle."

Steve Bailey, Team CTC Manager

Team CTC are back in action and race today, Tuesday 21 May, at the first Tour Series venue of the Johnson Health Tech Grand Prix in Stoke-on-Trent. Highlights will be shown on ITV4 as a part of The Pearl Izumi Tour Series show.
