Southdowns Mountain Bike Club
The Southdowns Mountain Bike Club is based in Havant, Hampshire. We regularly meet up at various locations. Our members are of mixed ages/ability, we are a friendly group of young, minded people who enjoy riding together whist enjoy keeping fit in the great outdoors.
When do we ride?
The spring, summer and autumn months see the biggest gatherings and many hardy souls playing in the mud or snow if we are lucky in the depths of winter. We ride locally on Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6pm for about 2hrs with longer Sunday 9am rides further from Havant organised by club members who know the area; Hindhead, Bramshott, Exton, Surrey Hills, these rides can be 3-4hrs in duration.
The clubs members age range varies considerably (don't be mistaken in thinking age makes you slow!) We ride Cross country, all mountain and some more technically challenging terrain. The rides usually end up with re-hydrating in a local pub for a good chat.
We also arrange introductory or beginners rides for those new to mountain biking but want a really leisurely pace with some basic instruction to bike set-up & handling.

The club also has many organised long weekend events that regularly take us to The Isle of Wight, Wales (Bikepark Wales, The Brecons, Llandegla, Coed-y-Brenin, Afan, Cwncarn), The Peaks and the Dales.
