Sheffield District CTC
The Sheffield District CTC Member Group was formed in 1912 and covers the whole of South Yorkshire and North East Derbyshire.
In Sheffield, there's at least one Sunday ride taking place every week and they can vary from moderate 35 to 50 miles or longer in mid-summer. The rides start from various locations on the edge of the city usually at 09:30. The Sheffield group also arrange weekly Saturday half-day easier rides (15-30 miles) into the neighbouring countryside also from various locations starting at 09:00. Wednesday evening rides during the summer also take place regularly. These are normally around twenty miles to country pubs and usually start at 6.30 pm from edge of the city locations.
We also arrange several hostel weekends each year, recent destinations have included, Lincolnshire, the Yorkshire Dales, North Yorkshire, North Wales and Belgium. Social events, including film and slide shows are held monthly during the winter months.
In Doncaster, weekly rides leave the Cenotaph on Bennetthorpe at 09:00 each Sunday morning to a variety places and usually return by late afternoon. Along with this the Doncaster group hold occasional social events and an annual fixed centre cycling holiday in the UK.
