About us

CTC Frome

The Club rides each Sunday morning, starting from outside the Cheese and Grain, Market Yard, Frome, BA11 1BE. Meet at 09:00 for departure soon after, and aiming to return by lunchtime or early afternoon.

We ride as one group, unless there are enough riders to necessitate multiple groups.

Numbers can be anywhere from a handful up to 20 riders per week, of varying ages and abilities, and we normally ride between 45-70 kms (30-50 miles.)

As our nickname suggests (CTC – Coffee and Tea-Cake Club) the most important part of the Sunday morning ride is the mid-ride café stop, where we rest, chat and partake in the drinking of tea or coffee and the eating of tea cakes or something similar!  We insist it must be highly calorific!

What else do we get up to?

  • Some members participate in organised long distance Audax rides at weekends (see www.aukweb.net for further details).
  • During the spring / summer cycling season you will also find the occasional all day ride as well as a couple of off-road rides just to keep things interesting.
  • During the long sunny summer evenings there is also the occasional Friday night pub ride.
  • We are also supporting Frome’s Missing Link (See www.fromesmissinglink.org.uk for further details).
  • An annual tour.

New members are always very welcome, just turn up on the day or contact one of the Club officials:
