Free Wheeling

Group of people riding

Welcome to Free Wheeling homepage, who are an affiliated group of Cycling UK.

About us

Free Wheeling are a Cycling UK affiliated group based in Darnley, Glasgow.

We currently hold sessions on a Saturday afternoon, based at Darnley Community Centre.

We encourage 4 to 6-year-olds who are unable to cycle to come along and practice on a balance bike with our experienced volunteers on hand to help!

Those who have mastered the balance bike and wish to progress to cycling unaided are invited to come to pedal bike sessions held (weather-permitting) outdoors on Darnley Primary School grounds. Please contact us for further information regarding these sessions. Parents are welcome to stay to watch or help out should anyone be inclined and are willing to become a PVG Scheme member (we are always on the lookout for more volunteers!).

We hope, as the club expands and more volunteers come on board, to increase our services to providing adult cycle classes, guided cycle rides, bike maintenance sessions etc. We are fortunate to have a wealth of cycling opportunities in the vicinity from the Dams to Darnley Country Park to Pollok Park and the wider national cycle network.

Sessions:

Sessions are currently held on Saturdays meeting 14:40 to 15:20 at Darnley Community Centre, 32A Glen Livet Place, Glasgow, G53 7LA.
