'Steady Saturday' Louth to Horncastle 16/5/26
Metting at 7.30am Today: Ty, Tim and Harvey.
It's the first day of the Festival of Wolds and the 50th Year of the Viking Way. So Ty's job would be to deliver Tim to Horncastle for 9.00a.m. as he would be leading the Spa Trail Bike Ride from Horncastle to Woodhall Spa.
The Louth contingent set off through Tathwell, Cadwell and ride along the Bluestone Heath road. Then ride down into Belchford and up and out of Fulletby. And yes we were sipping coffee at the Big Chair cafe at 9.00am. At 9.30am we would assemble at the Magna Vitae Car park and meet up with the additional Spa Trail riders. A lovely sunny ride down to Jubilee Park, Woodhall Spa for another coffee. Then it was time to return to Horncastle. The ride report for the Spa trail can be found here:

It was a very enjoyable ride and we said our goodbyes and the Louth contingent would return via Hemmingby, and another coffee stop at The Three Horseshoes, Gouclby for a well deserved 30 min. break. We then ascended Redhill adjacent to the nature reserve. Lastly a rapid descent through Withcall toHallington and back to Louth.
The Louth Group would travel 47miles today.
