Steady Saturday Louth to Cawthorpe 6/6/26
Starting today 9am was Ty Harness and Tim Newbury. The weather was iffy but fine and dry as we set off towards Stewton. Alas we saw a dear collide with a car but it was a decent emergency stop especially for the immeadiate car behind.
Tim had recalled the Splash was not open to 11am so we recalculated the route to stop at Mimi's Mission, Manby. We made our way over to Legbourne via Little Carlton. Perhaps we'll try Froghall Fisheries one day, as they are open from 8am 7 days a week. We travelled to Little Cawthorpe along the Beck and the wonderful (corregated tin )Colonial Cottage on our right. Passing the duck pond watery lane to admire the thatched roof cottage next to the church. The ridge line had a fantastic thatched fox and pheasant feature peice. Also a very elaborate duck pond [we had a thought maybe Sir Peter Viggers had moved into the village] We also through a couple of pound coins into the wishing well hoping the rain would stop. No joy so we would give Haughham and Tathwell a miss today and go directly back to Louth for 11am.
