New Years Eve ride 2025
Louth to Mablethorpe New Year’s Eve Ride
Today’s ride started from the Louth Magna Vitae Centre. The riders were Ty Harness, Steve Croton (ridden in from Alford), John Rickett, and John Parish. It was a very cold start, and ice was expected on the untreated minor roads.
The group headed out through Keddington, North Cockerington, Red Leas, over through Howdales, and then Skidbrooke. The roads were treacherous with ice.
The group was then joined by Alan Hockham, who had ridden over from Sutton-on-Sea. From there, the group continued through Theddlethorpe and turned towards the Mablethorpe seafront via Quebec Road.
Unfortunately, the Blitz Tea Room was closed, so an alternative plan was made to meet Paul Linder, who had ridden over from Alford, at the Mablethorpe Magna Vitae Centre. Both Paul and Alan then rode separate ways home, but Steve continued on to Withern with the group via Stain Lane, before turning off to Strubby and heading back to Alford.
This left just a nine-mile slog for Ty, John, and John via the Carltons, Manby, Grimboldby, South Cockerington, and finally back to Louth Magna Vitae for a well-earned coffee.
