Mince Pie Run 2025 Cheque Presentation to Rainbows

Cheque Presentation to Rainbows

A very successful Mine Pie Run took place on 21st December 2025 organised by Cycling UK East Midlands Region, under the direction of lead organiser John Catt.

£542 was raised from the catering (following the deduction of expenses) and the Committee voted that this amount be donated to Rainbows Hospice for Babies, Children and Young People.

Derek Willans once again ran the tombola on behalf of Rainbows Hospice and some great prizes were on offer. Ticket sales and donations raised close to £1200 and, added to our donation, the grand total amounted to £1736.

A presentation of a cheque to this value took place at the Rainbows Hospice in Loughborough on Monday 9th January 2026. Representing Cycling UK East Midlands Region were John Catt, Ian Hill and Tim Newbery. Also present were Derek Willans, Annie Leek (Rainbows) and Anne.

About Rainbows:

Rainbows Hospice support babies, children and young people and their families from across Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Rutland. Opening in 1994, the hospice provides palliative, end of life care and short breaks to babies, children and young people with serious and terminal conditions and to support their families. Just 13% of the funding comes from the government and other statutory agencies so funding by supporters is essential. In 2025, £8.5 million was needed to be raised to cover costs of the care. We were glad to have helped in some small way.
