Chilly ride to Cheddington
On a sunny but cold morning five riders left the Old Town Hall and climbed up to Grovehill where they picked up Steve and Carol who had been a bit late setting off. The route took us into the cold north wind along Gaddesdon Row and past Whipsnade zoo where we were caught up in queuing cars going into the zoo car park. At the bottom of Bison Hill we found John and Sue waiting for the group. Our route took us via Totternhoe and over the cycle bridge at the end of the Sewell Greenway where Kev took the photo outside the old Stanbridge station.
After a coffee stop at Pages Park train station ( now run by Curiositea Tea Rooms) we left Leighton Buzzard by the main road to Wing. Here some of us rebelled and made our own way to Wingrave where we met up with the others, before a straight run to The Three Horseshoes at Cheddington where we were served good baguettes. Carol was served with the most expensive Diet Coke ever in a pub at £3.95!
Afterwards people went their own way home and largely benefitted from the tailwind from the North.
