Cycling UK Louth Wednesday Wander and an extended ride to Chapel St Leonards!
Ride Report: John Rickett ...

A good day for cycling once the dampness had evaporated.
The day was planned for a ride to the Vista at the Boatshed café at Huttoft Beach. Paul Linder and John Rickett were waved off by Tim who had (almost) trotted to the Meridian Centre from home. It was a prompt departure at 10.00 as we had arranged to meet up with Steve Croton in Withern at 10.50. At 10.49 we arrived, obviously none of us had worked for British Rail in the past.

With the conditions improving a decision was taken to ride to Anderby Creek cafe via Woodthorpe, Beesby, Hagnaby and then enjoy the newly resurfaced road alongside the old Sandilands golf course. A sudden decision was made to try out the new path which forms part of the golf course transformation into the wildlife wetlands. In the event we overshot the turning onto the path - perhaps another day.

Summer must be well and truly over as there were few people about and for most of the time at the café, we seemed to be the only customers, however it had the benefit of lunch being served very quickly.

With the day now being pleasant another quick decision was to ride on to Chapel St Leonards and return via Hogsthorpe, Willoughby and Alford. At some point along the way I resumed my ‘Billy no Mates’ persona and chatted to myself, without any contradiction, all the way home, arriving at 15.10.

Roll on Sunday, the weather's looking good for the ride to Wold Newton and then onto Caistor. Tim has threatened to drive his car to Wold Newton, I'm sure he doesn't have any trust in his charges behaving themselves.
