Bicycling to Bicester

Thanks to Angela for this report - A great car assisted ride led by John I. Started outside the Railway Centre at Quainton, coffee in Buckingham at Coffee#1.  Managed to park our bikes in pretty square just outside. After coffee we cycled along some lovely quiet lanes before a busy road into Bicester then finally a cycle path into pedestrian area for lunch at The Penny Black, a Wetherspoons! West Herts are great fans of Wetherspoons so enjoyed lunch outside in the garden at the rear. This fine Georgian building, on Bicester’s main shopping street, first opened its doors to the public in 1914 as a purpose-built post office. The building is named after the famous stamp which marked the start of the modern postal system. Return ride via Marsh Gibbon and Grendon Underwood.  Having a car assist ride enables us to enjoy cycling out of our regular area, something we all enjoy.
