Petersfield Bicycle Buddies
Our activities
About us
The Petersfield Bicycle Buddies scheme (PBB) aims to bring together cyclists across the Petersfield and surrounding area of Hampshire.
We aim to provide 'Social Cycling at its best' !
Our team of Ride leaders run regular small group rides. Graded and detailed so you can choose their suitability. Rides are varied with short coffee stop rides on the beautiful lanes and byways of the South Downs National Park, some off-road track rides, and slightly longer rides to stretch us (typically up to a max of 35 miles).
Some rides may use trains or cars to access other areas a little father afield. If your located on the edge of our area you may be able to join the rides as they pass nearer to you.
We have run a number of short breaks to the IOW and Normandy.
We link up anyone no matter their skill or experience, for town, country or off road riding. More than 50% of our members now ride e-Bikes. We especially want to attract those who may be less experienced or rusty, perhaps nervous of cycling alone to make contact with regular cyclist buddies keen to offer their encouragement and ride together for pleasure or as a means of everyday transport.
We use SPOND to organise all rides or other social events and have a number of bikes available to loan or can assist with cycle maintenance.

The group started in July 2021 has over 170 members as of Sept 2024
Information about the group rides
Our rides are not on specific days but are published well in advance using the SPOND app with defined distance, pace and ascent so you can choose what to join.
Typically the rides will be limited in size and will include a coffee or lunch stop. They are always very friendly and sociable.
We target a number of small group rides to less confident or able riders.
Rides will also be posted for information on our website at www.pbbuddies.org.uk/rides
