Linskill Riders – Friendly, Social Cycling for Everyone
Linskill Riders has been a Community Cycle Club (CCC) since 2021, providing a warm and welcoming environment for both new and returning cyclists.
Our team of eight trained volunteer ride leaders organises at least one social ride every week, with rides taking place on various days to suit different schedules. Every ride is designed to be enjoyable and inclusive, with a relaxed pace and a well-earned coffee stop along the way.
Rides start from a range of locations across North Shields, Tynemouth and Whitley Bay, covering distances of up to 16 miles. Wherever possible, we use local cycling infrastructure and quieter roads, helping riders build confidence while enjoying the local area.
As part of The Linskill Centre, Linskill Riders also supports the wider cycling community through Big Bike Revival events. These include:
- Dr Bike sessions offering free bike safety checks and minor repairs.
- Puncture repair workshops to help you gain essential bike maintenance skills.
- Couch to 20km cycling courses, designed to help beginners and those returning to cycling build confidence and fitness in a supportive group environment.
Whether you're looking to get back on a bike, improve your confidence, or simply enjoy sociable rides with like-minded people, Linskill Riders offers a friendly and supportive way to get cycling.
Information about the group rides
Our rides are advertised through a Community WhatsApp group. Please email [email protected] for more information.
Our rides run throughout the working week, as such they tend to attract retired or semi-retired riders, although they are open to anyone over 18. People come on a mix of bike types from electric to push bikes.
