About us

TCOS is an inclusive club that meets at Blackstone's Sports and Social club on Lincoln Road, Stamford every Sunday morning at 0900 hrs. The distance rider varies from 20 to 50 miles, depending on the speed of and ability the group. In the summer we add a 25 mile evening ride leaving from Blackstone's at 1800hrs. Annually the members choose a local charity to support and fund raising events are organised to help raise money.

 Who are  the rides for?

  • Those new to cycling
  • Those getting back on the bike after a break
  • Those looking for relaxed, sociable rides
  • Or an experienced rider after new adventures

All are welcome.

Our rides are all about enjoyment, fresh air, and good company - not racing. We organise up to 5 different paced groups for those with different abilities. All are social rides with a cafe break and policy of no one is ever left behind. If you're having a slow day, we’ll make sure you’re supported.

What Kinds of Rides Do We Do?

  • Social Rides - You can select a comfortable for you pace to ride allowing you to make you to hold conversations and make friends.
  • Thursday Rides - Shorter on regular routes ending at a pub.
  • Women Only Rides - Short relaxed rides once a month, with a break in winter
  • Monthly Long Ride - Held once month in the summer
  • Monthly Gravel rides - Held on a Saturday

Events throughout the year;

Spring and Summer Big Group rides, very relaxed, mixed ability groups that ride to a cafe for lunch and return to a pub.

Annual charity event. This year a choice of either a 200 or 100 mile fully supported ride.

A weekend away. A chance to ride in a different part of the country. This year from Stowmarket to Ipswich, overnight stay then a different route back to Stowmarket.

See further ride information below.

New to the Club?

If you're thinking about joining us, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch for a friendly chat -we’re happy to talk through which rides might suit your experience, pace, and goals.

You don’t need to be a TCOS member to start - non-members are welcome to join up to three rides before deciding whether to join, where afterwards the £30 joining fee will be due.
