Colne Valley Cycle Therapy

Group of people riding

Hello, and welcome to Colne Valley Cycle Therapy CIC. If you're into some gentle pootles rather than powering up hill and down dale, then we're the cycling group for you.

About us

Run by ride leader Jane Crookes and ride leader and National Standard Instructor, Kate Wylie, CVCT run a range of short rides along mainly traffic-free routes in the beautiful Colne Valley in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, and the surrounding Kirklees countryside.

Most of our rides are from our base in Slaithwaite, where we have a fleet of bikes available to borrow so that everyone can join our rides, even if they haven't got a bike.

We do rides in other areas, and to join these rides, you must have your own bike and helmet. We have a wonderful group of riders - all very friendly and supportive, and our rides are at a gentle pace, with coffee stops along the way wherever possible.

Information about the group rides

Our rides are for everyone. We do short rides of between 5 and 12 miles usually and stick to traffic-free greenways and canal towpaths as much as possible.

We do have two trikes available for our rides starting in Slaithwaite, as well as a fleet of 2-wheeled bikes, so that everyone can join in.

Groups are around 6-8 people, with one or two qualified ride leaders present to lead the group. We generally meet at Colne Valley Leisure Centre, New street, Slaithwaite, HD7 5AB and quickly ride down to the towpath to start our rides.
