About us
Our Ethos and Values
Originally founded in 1888 and proudly revived in February 2026, the Bitton and Oldland Cycling Club is more than just a sports group—it is a sanctuary for social cycling. We transform the solitary act of riding into a collective, joyous experience designed to boost mental wellbeing and reduce loneliness.
We operate on five core pillars:
• Friendship: We value shared experiences and social connection as the primary goal of every ride.
• The "No-Drop" Policy: We move at an accessible pace, ensuring the group always stays together and every rider feels supported.
• Inclusivity & Accessibility: We welcome all riders regardless of their background, skill level, or the cost of their equipment.
• Safety: We believe in the "strength of numbers" to help everyone feel secure and advocate for infrastructure safe enough for ages 8 to 80.
• Wellbeing: Mental health and community confidence are our "North Star" for all club activities.
Join the Revival
We are currently in an exciting phase of active recruitment for our first modern members. As a campaigning club, we don't just ride; we support efforts to make our local roads safer for everyone in South Gloucestershire. If you value "cake and coffee" over competition and want to be part of a supportive community, we would love to have you on our next Bimble.
Membership is free until 31.12.2026!
