Asylum Link Merseyside Bike Club
About us
The Bike Club at Asylum Link Merseyside is an affiliated Community Cycle Club.
We offer weekly rides to people seeking asylum, refugees and local community members. The rides take place every Tuesday afternoon from 12.30pm-3pm, leaving from our base at Asylum Link Merseyside, 7 Overbury Street, Liverpool, L7 3HJ. Over the summer, we host the occasional extra ride, where we look to try out new routes and collaborate with other cycling groups across Merseyside. When we are able to, we also offer women's only rides, and learn-to-ride events too.
These rides have been hugely beneficial to participants' mental and physical health. For people who are new to the UK, and to Liverpool, our bike club gives them an opportunity to get to know local areas, explore the surroundings, meet new people, and build confidence on a bike. We have 14 bikes in stock, which we can lend to participants for rides, but we encourage people to bring along their own if they have them. We also provide all the necessary safety equipment and briefings, and our rides are led by Cycling UK-trained cycle leaders. Soundtracked to funky sounds from our speakers, our rides are a lot of fun, and have created lasting friendships between people from across the world!
Everyone welcome! So please come along on a Tuesday at 12.30pm or message [email protected] for more information.
