Prerequisites

The mountain bike Expedition Module extends the remit of the Technical Leader or Tour Leader awards to cover multi-day camping rides. The course teaches how to prepare for expeditions, anticipate and minimise safety issues and how to deliver fun and engaging overnight trips. The addition of the Night Module creates a perfect accompaniment to this module.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

Technical Leader or Tour Leader or equivalent industry award certificate
Valid 16-hour outdoor first aid certificate
At least one year’s experience of riding in technical off-road terrain
Logbook evidence of a minimum of 10 recent rides in at least two different areas
Logbook evidence of 10 overnight camps, preferably to include wild country (with or without bike)
