Meet at Redhall Park (info here -
https://www.cyclinguk.org/group/page/list-cycle-rides-edinburgh-and-our-starting-points ) for a 10am departure.
This run takes us to lunch at Bridge 49 café near Linlithgow. Mapometer
link is https://gb.mapometer.com/cycling/route_5010045.html
We head out by the canal and, though the route does not show it, will have a
stop at the Watt then carry on to Kirknewton, East Calder, through
Almondell, scenic Pumpherston to Dechmont after which we shall enjoy a
modest ascent and through Beecraigs to dip in to Linlithgow and pick up the
canal again to arrive at Bridge 49. All being well Fiona won’t have to eat
the barista’s lunch.
The afternoon will take us by Linlithgow Bridge to Linlithgow, thence
Champany, Pardovan. Philpstoun and via Duntarvie to Kirkliston. The run will
terminate at Cramond Brig. If anyone wants a coffee stop we'll sort one out.
45 miles in total, Redhall to the Brig, with scope for reduction if necessary. 25 miles to lunch.
Everyone is very welcome to attend, but for riders new to the group, our
riding guidelines on the following link are essential reading prior to
coming out on the ride to ensure safety for yourself and the other riders.
You will be expected to join Cycling UK after 3 rides.
Do take note of my phone number in case you get separated from the group -
079348 40556, and for new riders I will collect your details prior to the
ride. If you intend to be a regular rider with us please email
email@example.com with your details and a contact number so that we will
have these available in case of emergency.
Please make sure your bike is roadworthy and that you have two spare inner
tubes and basic tools to change an inner tube. You will need to have water,
money for coffee, a bike lock and lights. Remember you are riding at your
own risk and whilst the group will always try to help out as best as
possible with punctures and mechanical problems, you are responsible for
looking after yourself and getting yourself home.
