Vogrie Country Park VCP

Group ride

Event description

We shall meet at Charwood Grill restaurant Fairmilehead at 9.50am for 10 am start.
We head out to Loanhead via Straiton ,toilets are not open unfortunately. We use the cycle path to Roslin then Roslin Glen and up to Carrington quiet roads to Temple,Middleton and Borthwick, Newlandrig
and our lunchtime destination at Vogrie Country Park. ( about 20 miles).

There is a cafe, toilets and outdoor tables but mindful of current regulations ,we should disperse in smaller groups for our picnic. There are only a few tables available indoors not enough to reserve for the whole group but individuals may be lucky if they wish to sit in.

After lunch we have one last climb to Edgehead but then a great descent to Dalkeith . We will make use of the River Esk cycle path for a short time before diverting off to join NCI to Newcraighall and Innocent Railway path to Commonwealth Pool where ride finishes ( 36 miles total ).

The weather forecast at present is for sunny intervals and light winds ,the temperatures are definitely getting cooler however there’s an autumnal feel in the air.
