River & Palaces: A Self-Guided Ride Through London's Grandest Estates
Event description
River & Palaces is a self-guided cycling event exploring the historic houses, gardens and riverside landscapes of west London.
Following a largely traffic-free route along the Thames and through London's Royal Parks, the ride links Chiswick House, Syon Park, Marble Hill, Strawberry Hill, Ham House and Hampton Court. Along the way you'll discover hidden corners, forgotten landmarks and fascinating stories from several centuries of London's history.
The route is pan flat and suitable for riders comfortable cycling around 25 miles (40 km). Ride at your own pace, stopping as often as you like to explore the places that catch your eye.
Entry includes:
• GPX route and rider guide
• Feed station with drinks, snacks and homemade flapjacks
• Cream tea at the finish
