Meet at the Charwood, Comiston Road, EH10 6QJ at 0950 for a 1000 am depart.

We go south over the bypass and then 1st left past Damhead and the Secret Herb Garden and straight over at the lights Asda/Ikea. Turn right before Cosco on Pentland Road and left along The Loan to the Toilets in Loanhead.

From there we will join the cycle path to Roslin and on to Auchendinny down the hill to pick up the cycle path to the south end of Penicuik. Up Peebles Road, fork right at Ravensneuk Farm, over the Auchencorth Moss road to West Linton (toilets).

Low road past Bogs Bank to Romannobridge, then B7059 following Lyne Water to A72 into Peebles and a picnic lunch on the south side of the Tweed near the car park and Toilets. PS bring 30p to gain access to toilet!!     60 kilometres

Cycle path to Innerleithen then follow the Leithen and Glentress waters climbing to the Granites at 410m above sea level. From here it is 80 mins to coffee! Down to Middleton, Temple, left in Carrington towards Roslin’s Dolly’s Tearoom for coffee & cake. Another 50 kilometres – 110K in all with 950m or so of climb.

If the thought of the Granites is too much for you consider returning on the X62 bus – the double deckers take cycles I believe!

From Roslin those returning to the Centre and East of the city proceed along the cycle path to Loanhead and under the bypass to Gilmerton/Liberton.

For Morningside, Charwood and the West head for Hillend and Fairmilehead.
