Sportive/Challenge Ride

Event description

PedalRetro at Pedal Suffolk

PedalRetro is a journey into our shared cycling history. Join us to relive and celebrate a time when not just the bikes, but our roads, cycle clothing and day-to-day life seemed so much simpler!

Any pre-2000 bike is welcome to join us and we eagerly encourage you to find some woolly tights and jerseys and come prepared to impress your peers with your sartorial cycling elegance to match your PedalRetro machine.

Choose a ride from 25-100 miles or just rock-up in our PedalRetro s”Noggin & Natter” parking area (just £10 for as many bikes and people you can fit in your car!) alongside the finish line, unload your pride and joy and proudly display your bikes, kit and memorabilia and help us relive the golden era of cycling. With our Noggin and Natter ticket you are also welcome to bring your cycle jumble!

Whether you are into 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s or favour classic Italian bikes over hand-built bespoke British creations we hope to have a huge selection of bikes, riders and memorabilia to share with you in a celebration of cycling through the ages. Whether you choose to ride, ride and show or just show you will be very welcome – and we can’t wait to see what you bring!Come and enjoy a tour of the heartlands of Suffolk from the spacious arena at Trinity Park, Ipswich ideally situated just off the A14 and A12. There are no dual carriageways s or highways on this tour of Suffolk however, as we head out of our private rear gate and meander through some of its quieter and less trodden paths and villages en-route to clocking up to 100 miles.

A very warm welcome awaits you at our event village which is shared (just like the fully signposted routes) with our Pedal Suffolk Sportive. Whichever ride you enter, we are with you every step of way with fully signposted routes that we have ridden and risk accessed ourselves, the peace of mind mechanical support from the experts at Pedal Revolution, fully inclusive drinks and lunch stops with our enthusiastic team plus our extraordinary bespoke medals and free souvenir medals.

There will also be plenty to see and admire around the event village in this augural Pedal Suffolk gathering and you feedback is warmly encouraged to help us create a new 2 or 3 day event with onsite camping and entertainment for next year as together we make Pedal Suffolk a regular calendar highlight.
