North Down cycle campaign group - first meeting

Event ride

Event description

Do you want safer, better cycling in North Down?

We want to start a community group that speaks up for cycling across North Down

Whatever the reasons, from climate change, to clean air, health, money or simply enjoyment, many of us want to be able to cycle more to get places, and we want our children to do the same.

We think North Down is well placed to get more people on their bikes and we want to bring together those who want to be part of the change.

We are starting the North Down Cycle Campaign Group with support from Cycling UK.

Our first meeting is mostly a meet and greet for anyone who wants to be involved and find out more, we will discuss what we want the group to do and some of the current issues for cycling in North Down, including:

- The plans for expanding the North Down coastal path

- Greenway Development

- Queens Parade Development, Bangor

The meeting will be informal with a brief introduction from Andrew McClean (andrew.mcclean@cyclinguk.org) about what we can do, then we will discuss the current issues and how we want to move forward.

There will be tea, coffee and biscuits at the event and if there is interest we will go to the pub for a quick drink after.
