K20 Cycling Club Sportive 2023
K20 Cycling Club invites individual cyclists, cycling groups and clubs to take part in our 2023 Sportive on Sunday 4 June.
The event will be on flowing open roads and features as a 'must ride' Sportive for 2023, providing the opportunity of a leisurely ride meandering through the beautiful Kent countryside taking in some of the prettiest villages Kent has to offer; - Marden, Goudhurst, Benenden, Rolvenden, Biddenden, Smarden and Headcorn on the shorter 47 mile route, whilst the longer more challenging 73 mile route includes Appledore and Tenterden, and also takes in in the full length of the Military Road from Rye to Appledore.
Building on the tremendous success of our 2022 Sportive, K20 Cycling Club is aiming to raise funds for two local charities: Living Memories/Dementia Friendly Community Marden, which aims to help those living with memory loss, and Marden Scout Group, serving the area’s young people. In 2022 our Sportive raised an incredible £900 for each of our charities - in 2023, we hope to raise more!
If you are new to riding or think you might need a little help and encouragement to complete the distance, why not get in touch beforehand, and we will see about linking you up with some of our members who are riding and can provide help to pace you on the route.
- Free refreshments are on offer before, during and after the ride
- Limited mechanical support will be available at the feed stop
- Toilet facilities at start/finish and feed-stop enroute
- On completion each rider will receive an iconic and useful cycling accessory as a memento of the day
The routes will be signed.
Links to routes will be published via RideWithGPS and will be available to download in various formats and sent out to participants nearer the time
