G H Stancer Memorial Ride

Event
Description

George Herbert Stancer was an early pioneer of cycling and an early secretary of the Cyclists' Touring Club (CTC). He was born in Pocklington. A series of rides from across the region converge on Burnby Hall Gardens, Pocklington for lunch. This ride from Malton, is nominally 50 miles in 5 hours. Although this ride is not organised by CTC, we have traditionally included it as a qualifying ride for our awards scheme. There should be time for a second stop for tea/coffee at Thixendale on the way back.
