Cairneyhill
Event description
This Sunday's run offers a Christmas bonus for some of you - the joy of a second run led by me in less than a week, though I gather Gordon is not availing himself of this undoubted pleasure.
Lest there be any sair heids following the previous day's imbibing at our Christmas Do I propose an amble across to Fairley's garden centre in Cairneyhill west of Dunfermline. Pace will be to suit those present and the distance (pretty flat) should not exceed 40 miles.
I will pick a route suitable for the weather conditions and those underwheel with a 10 am start from Roseburn path, see Link from our webpages , on the bridge crossing the road.
For riders new to the group our riding guidelines are essential reading prior to coming out on the ride to ensure safety for all; they can be found here https://www.cyclinguk.org/group/page/guidelines-safe-riding You will be expected to join Cycling UK after 3 rides.
Do take note of my phone number (079348 40556) in case you get separated from the group, and I will collect contact details etc prior to the ride. If you intend to be a regular rider with us please email icectc.lb@gmail.com with your contact details and a contact number in case of emergency, so that we will have your details available.
Please make sure your bike is roadworthy, especially the brakes, and that you have 2 spare inner tubes and basic tools to change an inner tube. We should be back before dark but best have lights just in case. Do take note of the weather and dress accordingly. You will need to have water, money for food and a bike lock. Remember you are riding at your own risk and whilst the group will always try to help out as best as possible with punctures and mechanical problems, you are responsible for looking after yourself and getting yourself home.
Cheers
