Note: "You are expected to keep up with the group. If you lag behind, you may be asked to make the effort to close the gap. If you are unable to do so, the back marker will advise the leader and they will discuss with you the best options to get home safely."

From Fisherrow, along the front and over the footbridge to the coast road as far as the Industrial Museum. Take a right up past Dromhor to the B1361. East towards Prestonpans but taking the right turn uphill through Bankhead and Tranent, (toilet stop). South from Tranent towards Elphinstone, turning left for Buxley then right for Ormiston to pick up the cycle route to Pencaitland. Then north past Boggs, Penston, Gladsmuir and the A199. Take the left for Trabroun, to join the the road to Athelstanesford by way of Coates, Bangly Hill, Hopetoun Monument. (25 miles)
Home by way of Merryhatton, Congalton, Brownrigg, Balgone , Wamphray to Kingston. Then Fenton Barns, Aberlady and the coast road back to Musselburgh, (48miles total)
Coffee at Aberlady or Musselburgh, depending on numbers.
