Across the Severn Bridge
Event description
This is 57 mile ride, mostly flat, along the NCR4 to the Severn Bridge, where we will cross to Aust before returning to Chepstow for a well deserved lunch.
We'll cross the Wye River and the majestic Severn on the historic 1 mile long suspension bridge at a height of 154 feet above the water.
We will pass through the lovely village of Redwick with its Medieval Church, and cycle on through Caldicot.
We'll return on a slightly different route before rejoining NCR4 back to Newport, with a stop in Redwick along the way.
Lunch will be at The Two Rivers Inn, Chepstow.
Meet at the start opposite the Newport Transporter Bridge on Mill Parade or Coomassie Street.
Please liaise with me so we can arrange car share and lifts to and from Newport.
To allow yourself enough time, aim to be leaving Swansea by 8.30am so that we can depart Newport at 10am prompt.
If there is enough interest, we will run two separate rides, one faster (12-13mph) the other a little slower (11-12mph).
Organised by Swansea and West Wales
