Green Mark certification

In 2024, Cycling UK proudly achieved our first Green Mark Level 3 Accreditation, the highest level available, meeting all 60+ criteria with a 100% success rate. This recognition reflects our commitment to reducing our environmental impact and embedding sustainability into everything we do.

What we are doing

We’re working across the organisation to:

  • Monitor and reduce energy use
  • Switch to sustainable suppliers and products
  • Track and improve office waste management
  • Analyse travel to reduce mileage and emissions
  • Upgrade lighting, insulation, and appliances for efficiency

Achieving this accreditation is just the start and we are committed to ongoing improvement.

Our Carbon Reduction Plan

In 2025, we have published our first Carbon Reduction Plan, in line with government guidance. It sets our baseline carbon footprint for 2024-25 and outlines how we will reach Net Zero emissions by 2050.

As a mostly remote-based organisation, our Scope 1 & 2 emissions are already low, but we see big opportunities to reduce Scope 3 emissions. Over the next year, we will improve our data collection and re-baseline in 2026-27 to track our progress.
