One of three founding members of Isis Cyclists in June 2008, Ellen has been a constant presence in the group ever since. The group’s aim is to encourage more women to ride and Ellen says she loves to watch their confidence grow through cycling. During lockdown she set up a WhatsApp group to keep the women connected, which was described as a lifeline by members, who also praise her friendly, inclusive approach to cycling.

“I have ridden for both transport and pleasure, and I’ve explored by bike all over the UK and beyond. Whatever has happened to me in life, a bike has been part of it.”
