Founder, Recycke y’bike; club ride leader

Former teacher Dorothy founded Recyke y’bike back in 2006. This social enterprise refurbishes donated cycles for resale at affordable prices, with some given to schools, refugees and those on low incomes. Her long cycling career started when cycling as a child in Edinburgh. It includes campaigning for better cycling provision in Edinburgh, cycling holidays and leading club rides for people who want to remain active.

“Volunteering with asylum seekers and refugees I saw how a bike could help with their transport and wellbeing. The brainwave for founding Recyke y’Bike came not long later.”
