Rebecca Morley is part of Cycling UK's 100 Women in Cycling 2019 list for being one of the leading female cycle trade journalists.

From growing up in a town in West Sussex and cycling on its quiet roads, to living in central London with a lot more traffic, cycling has always been a big part of Rebecca Morley’s life.

Now, though, cycling has become her career. As a writer with bike trade magazine BikeBiz, Rebecca reports on the cycling industry, including product launches, distribution, events, jobs, and infrastructure. She delivers trade information to the cycle industry every day, focusing on the information her readers need to benefit their businesses.

Rebecca said: “Writing for BikeBiz means I've been to trade shows where I've been able to see new products and innovations and talk to the people behind them. I'm hugely excited about the BikeBiz Awards at the Cycle Show later this year, which will be a great way to acknowledge and reward individuals within the market.

There are so many reasons to start cycling and I hope I can encourage more women to start riding their bikes.

“There are so many benefits to cycling that everyone can experience, whether you cycle to commute, as a hobby or for sport. It can help physical health but also mental health - by keeping stress at bay, reducing anxiety, fighting depression, helping mindfulness, boosting self-esteem, preventing cognitive decline and improving social lives.

“There are so many reasons to start cycling and I hope I can encourage more women to start riding their bikes.”

Rebecca was nominated for 100 Women in Cycling by her colleague at BikeBiz, Robert Hutchins, who said: “In just less than a year, Rebecca has made her presence upon the UK's bike and cycling industry truly felt via her role at BikeBiz.

“Rebecca has helped set the industry news agenda with her output, flying the flag not just for women's cycling, but for cycling professionals, too.”
