Information about the group rides

We aim to run up to three group rides each week. Routes are published on Facebook, Strava and via our website;

The main club ride takes place on a Sunday. We assemble at Priory School, Worle, at 9am. Rides are between 50 and 60 miles over varying routes. Participants are expected to be able to maintain a 15MPH average speed. We generally try to incorporate a cafe stop on this ride.  (See note 1)

Wednesday evening club rides start at 6pm, usually from April to September, also assembling at Priory School. Typically the route will be approximately 30 miles. Participants are expected to be able to maintain a 15MPH average speed. (See note 1)

The Saturday morning ride is considered an easy or relaxed ride, It is aimed primarily at potential club joiners and riders not familiar with group riding, club members coming back from injury or illness. There is no requirement for being able to maintain any minimum speed, but you will need to be have the stamina to ride 30 miles.

(Please note. From time to time it may not be possible to run a ride; e.g. bad weather, etc. So, please refer to the club website, where details of upcoming events are published.) Link: http://westonwheelers.cc/

With all our rides, we have a non-drop policy. No one will be left behind - everyone can have a bad day.

Note 1. An average speed of 15MPH assumes a flattish route with benign weather conditions. It is understood that a hilly course and strong winds will knock this back.
