Emma is the founder of Mellow Jersey, a cycling tour company that offers dedicated women-only cycling tours across Europe and the UK. After being one of very few females on a number of other cycling trips, she wanted to create an environment where like-minded women could ride together and develop confidence in a non-threatening, supportive environment.

“What materialised [from Mellow Jersey] was far more than I ever expected and the company now runs numerous women only tours each year in Mallorca and has recently added trips to the Alps as well as closer to home in the UK.  

“The camps are far more than just riding – I love the atmosphere created by the ladies and the camaraderie and support they offer each other. It makes me proud that we are helping create lasting friendships and inspiring people to challenge themselves on a bike.”

Emma Dyson

Emma transitioned into cycling from rowing, where she was a national bronze-medal winner. This initial step was to continue to do some form of exercise, but it swiftly became a new passion. 

After taking on LEJOG and cycling the highest motorable road in the world (the Manali to Leh Highway in India) she left her London city job as a management consultant behind and set out on a new adventure into the unknown.

“Through cycling and setting up Mellow Jersey I have fulfilled a lifelong ambition to run my own business, but far more than I have met an amazing group of people... including my fiancé, who I met while doing a recce for a tour in the Alps! 

“It has taken my life in a completely different direction and I am excited about what the future has in store.”
