Volunteers' week - What does volunteering mean to you?

Volunteers' week - What does volunteering mean to you?

Every year we celebrate Volunteers' Week on the 1st to the 7th of June. It's a chance to celebrate all the amazing work done by volunteers across the country!

Volunteers are at the heart of everything Cycling UK does. Their commitment to helping more people enjoy cycling allows millions to take part in our amazing sport. We'd like to encourage even more people to get involved and we need your help.

To help spread the word about how rewarding volunteering with Cycling UK can be, we'd like our volunteers to create a quick 90-second, or less, video of themselves talking about 'What volunteering means to you'. Whether you're a seasoned club committee member, an occasional ride leader or help at local events, we want to hear from you. Let us know how you volunteer, what benefits it brings to yourself and others and most importantly why others should get involved!

We'll choose a selection of the very best videos and feature one a day, every day, during Volunteers' Week. You can upload your video at the bottom of this page!

It's easy to use a mobile phone or webcam to make your video and to help make sure it's as high quality as possible we suggest you follow a few simple tips:

  • Take the video in landscape
  • Make sure the lighting is clear and bright
  • Ensure the sound is on full
  • Consider the background when filming
  • Keep the video to 90 seconds or less
