Want to help more people explore the outdoors by bike?
Whether it’s working to increase access to the countryside for everyone, developing long-distance off-road routes or supporting local mountain biking advocacy groups, we can only do it with the help of our members and supporters. If you want to help others discover the joy of off-road riding, we’d love you to get involved. There are many different ways you can help improve access for cycling in your area. Some of these might be:
- Helping maintain trails and rights of way to a good standard for everyone to use.
- Forming a mountain biking advocacy group to build positive relationships with councils and landowners, to figure out solutions to any problems before they become a big issue.
- Developing promoted off-road routes in your area.
- Amplifying Cycling UK’s voice in our national off-road campaigning such as Trails for Wales.
- Joining your Local Access Forum as a cycling representative.
- Responding to local consultations about rights of way and public access.
- Researching historic rights of way to add to the definitive map.
Cycling UK is currently in the process of developing more resources, support and information for people who want to get involved in campaigning for off-road access locally. If you want to stay in the loop, please fill in your details below. We will use them to contact you about any opportunities in your area and to provide useful information once we have developed our new volunteer resources.
