Scotland Cycle Repair Scheme
About the scheme
Scotland Cycle Repair Scheme helped fix flat tyres, loose brakes and clunky gears to get folk pedalling again across the entire country.
Working with bike repair organisations in all 32 local authorities, Scotland Cycle Repair Scheme gave free repair and maintenance work up to the value of £50 for standard bikes and up to £100 for non-standard cycles. Repairs were available at more than 300 locations, with no need for vouchers or pre-registration. Repair organisations received the funding directly and logged the repairs of cycles.
All cycles were included in the scheme including adults’ and children’s bikes, e-bikes and non-standard cycles such as trikes, tandems, cargo bikes and recumbents. Manual wheelchairs could also be repaired through the scheme.
