Chilterns Cycle Rides For All
Cycle Chilterns have organised a series of led rides this summer open to all. In particular, they are great for families, people getting back into cycling or those who just prefer to ride in a group.
Led by qualified and experienced ride leaders, the rides will follow many of the local quiet country lanes, catering to the needs of the group, so no-one is left behind. The group usually stops for a relaxed coffee and there's always time to chat while cycling. The emphasis is on fun and enjoyment!
Children are welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent and be able to cycle comfortably for up to an hour. Parents with trailers or bike seats can bring younger children along.
A led ride is a great way to explore your local area and meet new people."

The rides are currently taking place every weekend across the Cycle Chilterns Gateway Towns. They are free to join, but booking is essential as spaces are limited. All the rides start at 4.30pm with a brief bike safety check before heading out as a group and returning by 6.30pm.

- Saturday 27 July - Tring an 8 mile ride on quiet country lanes
- Saturday 3 August - Amersham an easy 10 mile route on country lanes
- Saturday 10 August - Berkhamsted a flat, 9.5 mile ride on towpaths and country lanes.
- Saturday 17 August - Great Missenden a 7 mile ride using parts of NCN57
- Saturday 24 August - Tring a 9.5 miles ride on quiet country lanes
- Saturday 31 August - Chesham 7 easy miles along the Vale
- Saturday 7 September - Berkhamsted
- Saturday 14 September - Great Missenden an 8 mile ride with a manageable hill
- Sunday 22 September - Berkhamsted, forming part of the Berko BikeFest activities. The short ride will start at noon from Canal Fields car park in Berkhamsted. Booking essential.
CTC clubs in the area also run their own rides on a regular basis and welcome newcomers. Find your nearest club on the local-groups page.
All of the routes used are suitable for a wide range of riders and maps with brief route descriptions are provided for each ride. So if you can't attend the group ride, you can still use these routes as a basis for your own rides and we'll be adding more route suggestions in the future.
