Ride for CTC at the Countrywide Great Tour

Cyclists enjoying The Great Tour
Ride and fundraise for CTC on our stages at The Countrywide Great Tour

CTC has a limited number of guaranteed places on the stages Scarborough – Kingston upon Hull (2 August) and Rye – Brighton (11 August) for those wishing to fundraise for us.

Scarborough – Kingston upon Hull: After leaving the lights and sounds of Scarborough this scenic coastal stage passes some spectacular views of Flamborough Head with its sheer cliffs, home to a wealth of sea bird life, and lighthouses from 1806 and 1669! Passing through historic Yorkshire towns such as Aldborough and seaside resorts like Withersea, riders will track the banks of the Humber Estuary to the stage finish in the city of Hull.

Rye – Brighton: Rye, the former haunt of highwaymen and smugglers with its ancient buildings and secret passageways, is the start of Stage 39. Taking in the ruins of Hastings castle and the awe-inspiring views at Beachy Head in Eastbourne, the route clings to the coast offering wonderful costal views. The Sussex Heritage coast will carry the cyclists along offering a magnificent backdrop to the route all the way to the ever popular holiday destination of Brighton.

Why ride for the Team CTC:

As the UK’s oldest and largest cycling charity, CTC has been at the forefront of supporting cyclists and representing their interest for over 135 years. Over that time, much has changed, but our commitment to making cycling safer, more convenient and enjoyable remains undimmed.

But, to achieve this, we need your support! By fundraising for CTC, you’re helping to ensure that:

  • We can continue to run campaigns like Road Justice and Space For Cycling
  • Our important cycling development work, like Inclusive Cycle Champions
  • We can continue to develop and support our fantastic team of volunteer campaigners, who are fighting for improvements in cycling in their area
  • Our clubs, and the dedicated volunteers who run them, receive all the support and training they need to ensure grassroots cycling goes from strength to strength
