CMC - Pensarn Harbour is an outdoor activity centre situated within the Snowdonia National Park, set against the stunning backdrop of the Rhinog mountain range. The centre is on the waterfront, enabling water sports activities to take place on site, and we are within walking distance of the beach and the village of Llanbedr.
The centre was formed in 1966 to help young people and adults to "develop their physical, mental and spiritual capabilities as individuals and members of society". It is administered by a Registered Charity (No. 1062075) and as a non-denominational Christian Company (No. 3324934 - England and Wales). Our purpose is to provide quality courses in outdoor activities and field studies for all ages and abilities within a framework of traditional Christian values and standards. Many people who visit the centre are exposed to a challenging, demanding and beautiful environment. Many of the activities are not without some element of perceived danger, and each person responds to these situations in their own unique way. For many this experience provides an opportunity for each individual to re-examine where their life is leading, and to reappraise their role in the world today.
All staff are committed Christians and seek to live their lives in accordance with Biblical principles.
Grace is said before breakfast and evening meal. If the group leader wishes, we would like to offer a 'thought for the day' after breakfast and/or a simple 'epilogue' with evening drinks. This might be just reflecting on the day's fun and achievements, or may take the form of drama, music, video or a short talk by a member of staff on his or her experience of being a Christian today.
There is no pressure whatsoever on visitors to accept the Christian viewpoint, and we welcome groups and individuals of any faith or none.
