Get a chip time over either 26 or 13 miles and enjoy the great scenery and great hospitality, at the Friendliest Marathon and Half Marathon Run or Cycle event in Scotland. 13 and 14 year olds can cycle with mum or dad or both. Why not make it a fundraising event the whole family can take part in? Over the years well over £60,000 has been raised for charities and good causes. Aberfeldy and District Rotary Club organise the event with the aim of raising money for charities and good causes internationally, nationally and locally. We have a number of free charity places available through our 4 Charity Partners. All you have to do is commit to raising a minimum of £100 with a target of £175. Please click on one of the charity links below for details. If you do not want to commit to raising sponsorship you are still helping to raise money just by entering the event! The vast majority, if not all the event costs, are covered by corporate and local sponsorship leaving the Rotary Club to redistribute the money raised through Entry fees to many good causes. If you would like to donate an additional £10 to the Rotary Club please tick the box when entering through Entry Central.

Highland Perthshire Marathon, Half Marathon and Cycle Sportive Saturday 2nd September 2017. http://perthshirecyclesportive.co.uk
The Highland Perthshire Marathon and Half Marathon run or cycle event has built up a reputation for being a superbly organised, great value and Friendly Event. 2017 will be the 5 th running of this great event with many people returning Year after year. The course is a thirteen mile loop which takes you through some stunning scenery. Starting at the iconic Wades Bridge in Aberfeldy the route heads west through the village of Weem past the historic Castle Menzies and out towards Drummond Hill with great views towards Schiehallion and Glen Lyon. The miles fly by on a mainly flat route for 7 miles before reaching the village of Kenmore with fantastic views westwards up Loch Tay as you go over the River Tay at Kenmore bridge. Here the route leaves the public road and heads through the grounds of Taymouth Castle, passing right in front of one of the most impressive castles in Scotland. Now comes the only real challenge on the route, a short climb up out of the castle grounds and back onto the public road to Aberfeldy. The final 5 miles follow the river Tay and although it is undulating, the general gradient is down hill, allowing you to cruise along enjoying views across the river to the historic Appin of Dull. Before you know it Castle Menzies comes into view across the river and you are almost back in Aberfeldy. If you are doing the marathon distance you head around by the famous Black Watch monument before you have the pleasure of going around the route again finishing at the fantastic facilities of The Breadalbane Community Campus.
