Stevenage Start of Summertime Specials
Welcome to the Stevenage Start of Summertime Specials (SSOSS) event page.
Each year Cycling UK Stevenage organises a series of events to celebrate the start of summertime.
This year there are 4 different routes to choose from depending on your preference of distance.
The rides feature in the Cycling UK Summer Challenge Rides Series.
We encourage everyone to enter in advance.
Safety note: You should carry lights, sunset in Stevenage on the day is at 19:21 BST.
From Stevenage to Reed, Braughing, Puckeridge and back to Stevenage.
Start time: 10:30am (arrive at the start by 10:00am)
Time allowed: Up to 6 hours
Ride: 103 kilometres
Route: From Stevenage to Reed, Barkway, Saffron Walden and back to Stevenage via Braughing.
Start time: 10:00am (arrive at the start by 9:30 am)
Time allowed: Up to 9 hours and 30 minutes
Ride: 160 kilometres (100 miles)
Route: Stevenage to Reed, Barkway, Saffron Walden, Toppesfield, Finchingfield and back to Stevenage via Thaxted and Braughing.
Start time: 8:30 am (arrive at the start by 8:00 am)
Time allowed: Up to 11 hours
Audax UK Ride: 200 kilometres (125 miles)
Route: Stevenage to Reed, Barkway, Saffron Walden, Lavenham and back to Stevenage via Finchingfield and Braughing.
Start time: 8:00 am
Time allowed: Up to 13.5 hours
