About us

High Beach Youth Cycle Club are a Cycling UK affiliated group.

Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch regarding High Beach Youth Cycle Club.

Please note that we are now running fortnightly club sessions in accordance with our winter timetable until 31st March 2022 (please enquire for next session date).

The club sessions are for young people aged between 8 and 17. We ride on Saturday mornings from 10am to 12pm and the meeting point for most rides is opposite the Kings Oak pub at High Beach, Nursery Road, Loughton, IG10 4AE. The safety of our riding group is of utmost importance and individual riders will not be encouraged to ride beyond their capabilities. A two hour mountain bike ride requires a certain level of fitness and cycling capability and all new riders will be assessed on the first session attended. This initial opportunity to ride with the club will be offered at no cost. Rides include guiding, advice on bike setup and fit and tips on technique and bike control in off-road terrain. All club coaches are DBS checked and suitably trained in First Aid.

Riders must wear an approved helmet and have a bike that has gears and is suitable for off-road terrain (no BMX bikes) in good mechanical order. Riders are encouraged to be self-sufficient and as such should arrive with clothing suitable for the sport and weather conditions, some water, a snack, a spare inner tube to fit their own bike and a cycle multi-tool to enable minor repairs and adjustment to the bike.

Please let us know if you wish to join us by using the contact form on our group page, your message will be replied to ASAP and a registration form will be forwarded.

We hope to see you soon.

Kind regards
