With Christmas over, now might be the time to turn your attention to New Year resolutions and any cycling you plan to do to get rid of those additional calories consumed at Christmas...
With that in mind, here are the first few rides in the club programme for 2023.
We start the year off with a couple of DIY rides - one for the Ladies Only.
With the DIY format, you can choose to ride as many or as few miles as you fancy, going to/from the meet up point.
If the weather is foul, make it a short ride.
If the weather is fair, (a relative description at this time of year!), choose a longer route to/from the meeting point.
As the great Eddie Merckx once said - Ride as much or as little, as long or as short as you feel. But ride.

Sunday January 8th. - Your choice of miles!
Designated meeting point is The Bothy Cafe, Auchincruive.
Usual DIY rules apply. i.e.
Choose your own route there .
Choose your own route back.
Just be there between 11.00am and midday to meet up with like minded CUK members.
No registration required for DIY rides.
Saturday January 14th. - Your choice of miles!
Two weeks into 2023 and already this is the second DIY of the year!
This one is slightly different as it is intended for the Ladies Only section of the club.
Normally, there is no Ladies Only ride in January so, this is a chance for a New Year catch up before the cycling starts in earnest later in the month.
Designated meeting point is Hayes Garden Land at Bogend Toll near Symington.
Usual DIY rules apply. i.e.

Choose your own route back.
Just be there between 11.00am and midday to meet up with like minded CUK ladies.
No registration required for DIY rides.
Sunday January 15th. - 20 miles.
Drew K. kick starts 2023 with the first full club ride of the year.
His route will include Ardrossan, Saltcoats and Fairlie Moor with an optional Hygge/Ne'er day warmer in "Saltkota" at the end of the ride.
If you don't know what that means, you'll have to come on the ride to find out...
Registration closes Friday 13th. January @ 18.00
Sunday January 22nd. - 30 miles.
It's Keith Hull at the helm as he navigates his way on a circular tour taking in South, East and North Ayrshire, all in the space of 30 miles!
Lunch stop at The Puffers cafe in Irvine's harbourside.
Registration closes Friday 20th. January @ 18.00
Saturday January 28th. - 23 miles.
Note carefully:- This is a SATURDAY event.
A South Ayrshire circular route with Ayr at the north and Maybole at the south.
The bits in between are at the mercy of leader Eunice.
Don't worry - she knows the way!
Lunch stop in the Carrick Centre, Maybole.
