CTC Tayside AGM

CTC Tayside AGM

Cycling UK Member

Our delayed Annual AGM will now take place on Sunday April 25 at 1600 hrs online.

The format this time will be very different as we will not be able to meet up owing to Covid restrictions (so no free lunch this time, sadly!). The AGM will be run online through Cycling UK using Microsoft Teams. Many of you will have become familiar with using different types of remote video apps such as Zoom, Messenger, Skype etc during the past year when we have been unable to meet freely and Teams is very similar. However, I recognise that some may not want to join a video conference or indeed have the technology to do so. In order to give as many members as possible the opportunity to have a say I will be sending out a detailed Agenda and invite comment in advance, so hopefully everybody who wishes to do so can contribute.

The most pressing issue to be tackled is seeking volunteers for the committee to allow us to continue. As a member group of Cycling UK we are required to have at least three people on the Committee; Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. In addition, we need somebody to fill the role of Welfare Officer, although this particular role can also be undertaken by one of the above roles. Currently the crucial position of Secretary is vacant since Laurence felt unable to continue in the role, and we are also looking for a replacement Treasurer as Pat wishes to step down. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are willing to help the club by taking on any type of voluntary role.

As well as these formal roles there are other opportunities to volunteer your services. These could be for example as a ride leader, helping with a communications strategy, raising cycling related issues with Local Authorities or helping recruit and/or assist others who are perhaps less confident or able to ride without assistance.

This email is being sent out through Cycling UK on our behalf to all Cycling UK members in our area who have voting rights. If you fall into that category but have not previously had any engagement with CTC Tayside then please consider making yourself known and joining us at the AGM or on a future ride once we are able to restart group rides or even volunteering to help out with the club going forwards. You will be made most welcome.
