Fairleys Garden Centre, Cairneyhill
Event description
This Sunday we revisit the Kingdom and explore the scenic villages along the coastal route west of the bridge.
We begin at the Roseburn Path just at the point where it crosses the Glasgow Roadat 9.50 for a 10 am start.
We follow the path to Cramond and meander our way to Cramond then take the back road towards Kirkliston to Dalmeny and onto the Forth Road Bridge.
The toilet stop will be at the Bus Station on the other side of the Bridge.
We the follow route 76 along the coast to Torryburn where we will leave the path and head for Fairley’s Garden Centre in Cairneyhill.
If you would prefer to eat sandwiches it should be possible on the benches outside the cafe.
Lunch is approximately at the halfway point.
After lunch we ascend northwards to join the lovely tarmaced West Fife Cycleway to Dunfermline then through Pittencrieff Park and onto routes which will take us back to the Bridge. If the weather is nice you may want to relive your youth by visiting the ice cream van in the Park!!
After crossing the Bridge it is back along the A90 path back to Roseburn.
Total mileage is 44 miles
Terrain is mostly tarmac paths or minor roads. There are very short sections which are a little rougher
Grade of run is relatively easy.
