Hello.

The ride this coming Sunday (24/3) is near enough a circular route starting from Roseburn Bridge above West coats road for a 10am start.

We'll mostly be on cycle paths to Cramond Brig and again on cycle paths and minor roads to Dalmeny and Queensferry for a toilet stop.
From Queensferry we go under the Forth Road Bridge and up to the A904 which we'll cross and go on minor roads to Winchburgh. Here we
pick up the canal and follow it a couple of mils past Broxburn where we leave the canal and go on a minor road to the Almondell Country Park which we'll cycle
through and get to East Calder where we'll have lunch at Veitch's Garden Centre café - ca 20 miles.

After lunch we'll join route 75 to Kirknewton and onward to the A70 which we'll be on for a short distance before turning right and follow this
minor road up to near the foot of The Pentlands followed by a good gravel path to Harlaw Reservoir.
At Harlaw there is a possibility for refreshments if we get there before 3pm!

From Harlaw we'll make our way down to the Water of Leith foot path and ride back to The Water of Leith Visitor Centre by
the Slateford Viaduct where the ride ends at 36 miles.

The weather for cast at the moment is : cloudy and 6 - 8 degrees and a S/W breeze/wind

Some of the route will be on good quality track.

I'm happy to show the way back to Roseburn Bridge should anyone want that.

Please make sure your bike is roadworthy, that you have two spare innertubes and tools to change an inner tube.
It is good to bring water and a wee snack . A bike lock might be useful too..
You are riding at your own risk but group members will always try to help out as best as possible if need be.
You are also responsible for looking after yourself and getting yourself home.
